Cool Atmosphere, Disappointing Service: My second time back to this place. Arrived Saturday night at 10pm. Most of the girls were dressed like they were from Orange County, CA as opposed to San Francisco. Which is fine if that is your scene.
I like the layout, locale but every time I have been (3 months apart) service has been not just poor but downright terrible. We finally left bc we spent too much time with empty drink glasses and the food was "OK". The pomme frites with the NY Steak were not cooked all the way. The sushi was mediocre. The sauce with the crab watons tasted like 1000 Island dressing.
We left early and went elsewhere and won't be back. Not our scene but unbearable service.
Awful or poor? That is the question...: I signed up for Yahoo just so I could write a review of this restaurant; the service was that bad. I can't believe that this place is in anyway affiliated with the restaurant described in the below reviews. The only thing that makes it recognizable is the address and (perhaps) the ambiance. The food looked good on the tables surrounding us, but considering it took 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence, bring us a glass of water, etc. I'm not sure whether the reason I thought the food was good was because of its quality or my near-starvation by the time it arrived. We had to stop them from taking our still-empty wine glasses after the 2nd course and remind them that no one had ever offered to take our drink order. Still, the experience could have been saved by a single apology at any point during the meal, which our waitress was either too arrogant or clueless to offer. By rating this as "poor", I feel I'm being kind.
Really the best French spot in town . . .: Ambiance (including great views of the Bay), outstanding food, wine expertise as I have never experience before, and that great European attention to detail. Everyone must try La Suite, but bring a credit card or a big wallet!
