When Mexicasa very first opened my family frequented the place often. i am not sure at what point it changed but the last few times I have been there have not been well. I even brought people with me that I had bragged to them about Mexicasa on several occasions, I felt silly. The food wasn't the same, the cheese was brought in a huge clum, when I sent it back it was very obvious the only thing that was done was they put water in it and stirred it up. Then it was cold. The servers don't use team work, a waiter in one section will be running around super busy and there will be another server leaned up against the wall in the next section. I know that Tom and Jerry can do better than this!! As for decorations, I think it is a fun place to be!!
This restaurant is divine! It is such a great escape from the boring and plastic chain restaurants that litter our city. It is small, warm and personal. Both Tom and Jerry are often around to greet and wait on guests themselves. The artwork on the walls is done by Tom himself and it is vibrant and full of colorful artistic impression. And the food, Ah! the food, it is simply delicious. With creative spins on traditional favorites, juicy steaks, and fresh seafood, every meal is a delight. The staff are friendly and courteous without being pushy or generic. Overall, I believe Tom and Jerry's Steak and Fish Grille is one of the absolute best dining experiences in OKC!
To start off with the decor left much to be desired. My 2 eight year olds have better taste. The last time I went through curtains that led up to the restrooms, I was getting into a shower.
For as much as they charge for the food, they can at least buy some new furniture. There were several motifs going on in the dining area, none of which complemented eachother.
When my wife and I arrived there were 10 tables set in front of us. they had us WAIT for them to get a table on the other side of the room cleaned. The wait staff was S-L-O-W. It was at least 10 minutes for them to do more than fill some glasses of water for us. It also took them forever to refill that glass when empty. The menu was simple paper. Come on people, at $20 a plate you can upgrade from paper. The food sounded tempting on the menu. but it was nothing more than what I cook at home. the food tasted "earthy", or like dirt, however you want to call it. basically they used way too much herbs. There was so much sage, rosemary I couldn't tell the difference from the tuna and the chicken. the muscles were easy to identify, they were the ones in the shells. Give me a moment, now i am waiting for a refill..............
People, just because they drizzle some chocolate and butter on your plate does not make it good. It just makes it expensive. If you are going there for the fish, go down the street to Long John Silvers. Everything may taste the same no matter what you eat, but at least it will cost less and not be a long drawn out day.
