We save the Polo Lounge for special occasions; birthdays, anniversaries & holidays. Just going to the Beverly Hills Hotel is an adventure; a glimpse upon an elegant way of life. One walks into the beautiful and well-appointed lobby and one enters into another world, one speaking of both the present and the past in terms of fame, celebrity, glamour and opulence, Then on into the Polo Lounge, where one is greeted warmly and shown to comfortable seating at a table set with linen. Attentive staff greet you by name, having recalled serving you on prior occasions. The atmosphere is one of graciousness. One selects from full menus of appetizers, salads, entrees, wines and desserts. The food is prepared from the freshest of ingredients and served to be relished and enjoyed. Everything is flavorful and delicious. The presentation is delightful. Across the room are the famous and the near famous. One savors the whole experience from the beginning to the end. It is certain to impress. The cost is commensurate with the experience.
If I could only go to one bar for the rest of my life, it would be this one. The maitre'd is amazing and remembers everyone. This is old hollywood at it's finest. There are celebrities and out of towners who are staying at the hotel just hanging out. The appetizers are expensive but fantastic, and the piano player will always take requests while you snuggle in a quiet booth.
