The Counter

It's fast and noisy. We know what to expect and to "build a burger" is kind of fun. What is totally not good service was not the waitresss that took the order but the one who brought us our different dishes and didn't even ask which was which and then as I was taking my last bite of food came by the table and took away my dish right from under me as I am still eating. That is a "Denny's" with a small "D" I should have said something to the manager. To pay those prices and be treated in such a way is not worth the work I put in to making their company profit. Quality Mexican food and service is just a couple blocks east and on the south side of Ocean Park (we almost went there and should have).

The burger will only be as good as YOU choose to make it. So each time that I've gone, my burger was always to perfection, for that day. The Counter doesn't skimp you on meat, nor the choices that you have. They pile everything on so burgers are huge - think two handed, knife and fork. Always, always, always get the sweet potato fries. Yum! Seating is finders keepers, and tables are close together, have that 4th friend save the table as you order. Service....don't go at the peak of lunch because you will not get your burger until an hour later, which is what happened to me, but since I wasn't hurrying to go anywhere afterward....I've typically gone at closer to 2 and had my burger served in under 15. But this place is a MUST for anyone that lives nearby. Oh and they have a great choice of beers for those that had the time to relax. Families, couples, business execs, different characters - tons of eye candy. Clean, semi-friendly service; but really how can we expect them to be perfect when they're serving so many people.

I worked there before and had 40 bucks stolen out of my wallet, which was in my purse in the employee closet/where everyone puts their belongings. Which means it was stolen by an employee.

I wasn't all that impressed with the food..the fries are good though.
