User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsRoad trip just for BBQ: A co-worker turned me on to Rick's BBQ. We just love it. The sauce is tangy, not too hot. The smoked chicken salad sandwich is to die for, but you have to call ahead. They only make it special order. Those are the only items on the menu that I've tried. They are both delicious.
We drive 3 hours from Atlanta just to get this stuff. It's a little ways off the interstate if you're driving from Atlanta to Savannah, but it's worth the trip. We find it's just the right distance to get out for a leg stretch and a BBQ sandwich.
The staff is always helpful and happy to see us. This family-owned restaurant is a little shack, but isn't that where all the good BBQ comes from?
