We had been to this restaurant 3 or 4 times. There is no second thought to say that this is the best Indian restaurant in this area.
When we moved from Houston, TX to Sprinfield area we thought we would miss Good Indian restuarants. But "The Garden" quenched our thirst for Good Indian Food. The website given here did not work though. It would be helpful for Guests to look at the menu before stepping in.
We love the Veggie dishes served here. We ordered togo twice for our family get-to-gathers and everyone appreciated the food.
The Garden Staff Keep it up.
My husband and I recently had a party for 25 catered by the Garden Restaurant and we were very satisfied with the result. Not only did they give us much more food than we really needed, but it was of high quality, and their service was timely and gracious, and their prices very fair. We called 3 different Indian restaurants in the area, and the garden was the only one who returned our phone call promptly and gave us a price per head immediately. The food was tasty, spicy, not too oily, just right. Next time we have a party and want Indian food, we won't even bother trying any other restaurant. We will go straight to the Garden!
Excellent food, but....: I will admit that this is probably one of the best Indian restaurants my wife and I have been to. And believe me, we've eaten Indian in four or five states between us.
Here's the thing: We were probably the last customers to be let in the door for dinner, before closing on a Saturday night. We sat down to a table that had no napkins and was missing a water glass. And this was after we were made to wait around 15 minutes for a table. You would think they would have seen that when the table was set. The glass was brought; the napkins were never noticed to be missing.
We waited for a good bit, probably 10 minutes after we closed the menus (the accepted cue that we were ready to order) for someone to take our order. When the server came ( we assumed he was the owner or manager) he didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink. I might have ordered a mango lassi on impulse had he said something. And it would have helped, since the food took quite some time to appear. We were not asked either about the spice level we desired. When our food did come, our samosas were cold inside. By then we were so hungry we didn't even bother to say anything. The rest of the food was very tasty. The tandoori chicken had a nice zing to it. My wife's chana masala was much to her liking. We might have liked a little more fire. We might have liked a little more attention too.

Just wanted to add an aside to this most recent comment... While it's true that on their busiest days (friday, saturday, sunday) the service may not be "5-star" , the staff at Garden is usually very accommodating and polite. Also, coming from a south indian brought up in the US, I can verify that they can satisfy my fickle taste for extra spicy on some days, and rather mild on others. It's one of the first indian restaurants that doesn't add tons of oil or ghee to their food, but still manages to create great flavor. Good job!
