Respond now to the projector man that responded to my review. I did leave the movie early when I realized it was not good quality. I also know that the IMAX is very different than the regular movie theater. That is why I wrote what I did :-) No comparison at all! I was saying that when I went on line, it looked like I was going to IMAX when I bought the tickets then got there and found out I had to go into this little theater with POOR QUALITY film.
Maybe you need a new projector? Blurry, yes it was, dark? yes it was. Bad 3D? Yes it was sorry if that hurts you so much :-). You probably are the projector guy that works there. Ha. get a real job. that theater and that movie sucked. And I was not the only one, all you have to do is stand outside the door as people leave early or when they all come out and listen to them. I can't help it if a few people go there and don't know good quality or never saw a good 3D movie. They would naturally think it was good. HA :-). Unfortunately some of us know the difference and will voice are opinion when we get a chance. How dare this little dumb theater even try to show a 3D film when you have IMAX showing it's great quality films in sound and film. I might add that I work in the audio industry and have done many projects for film. So when I see and hear something that is pretty bad given what we have today it is pretty sad. Pretty sad also that someone would even try to stick up for such a low budget theater where most home's now have home theater equipment that is better quality. :-) I know mine does. Also the automated ticket booth was lined up as people tried to figure out how to use them. Then even when they did, they were not able to get tickets and like me still had to go to the normal line. I am sure once someone figures them out and they work, it would be easy after that? But I petty the person that has to look at those machines for the first time and try to figure out what it is really asking for. This was very entertaining though to see some 8 dollar an hour projector person try to stick up for the theater he works for. Thank you for that. You made my day. Either way I certainly will never go back to that theater. IMAX however OH YES!!!!! FANTASTIC IMAX you have set a new standard in audio, in film and in seating arrangement, and certainly 3D wow!!! keep it up IMAX people and thank you sooooo much so we don't have to waste our time in these other theaters that can't seem to improve over the years.

I just wanted to respond to the review by Bob. I have worked in the movie industry for over 3 years and wanted to bring some insight to some of the complaints Bob stated in his review.

First of all about the 3D experience. Not every 3D movie is going to be in IMAX for one simple reason. Not every 3D movie is filmed in IMAX format. IMAX movies have to be filmed using special equipment and the production team have to have IMAX filming in mind when producing their movie (Dark Knight is a good example). Most 3D movies are not shot in IMAX format and are in fact sent to theatres in a digital format not a film IMAX format, and therefore cannot be shown in the IMAX theatre. Although I understand that after seeing a movie in IMAX you do not want to see it in a regular little theatre there is not much the theatre can do about it. It depends on the movies we get.

As for the complaints about the movie quality, I highly doubt those really happened as Bob was probably angry and making stuff up to make people get on his side. But for one, 3D movies are projected by a digital projector which has a much higher resolution than normal 35mm projectors and also it doesn't use film, which means a much better quality experience overall. Its like comparing a VHS tape to a DVD. Anybody who says the VHS is better quality is either a fool or so upset they're not seeing straight. That doesn't mean there can't be problems I just wanted to say that if it was so bad why didn't Bob leave or get a refund?

As for the problems with the ticket machine outside they're not that confusing as I see people use them all the time, young and old, without any problems. Perhaps Bob needed to read the instructions? Anyways if you do have problems with the machines there is no need to wait in the long lines outside. You can usually go inside the theatre to the customer service desk where they can help you immediately (Assuming there isn't a long line in front of Customer Service). In fact if you don't like using the machines the customer service desk can also print Fandango tickets, just have your confirmation number or the credit card you used to pay for the tickets and the person working CS can print out the tickets pronto. I hope my info will help make everybody's experience at their local theatre more enjoyable. Cheers!

Has all the good aspects that can be expected from a movie theater these days. It's right at the Irvine Spectrum center, which is a fun place if you like the atmosphere and scene. Also, last I checked, this theater is easy to sneak into other movie rooms after you finished watching the movie you paid for. Did I say sneak? You don't have to do that. Just walk into any room you want. Like the staff and management at the Edwards Theater at Aliso Viejo, I don't think they really care as long as you bought a ticket. And who cares if people do that. Most probably just check out other movies to make plans for the next weekend. Not everyone is gonna stay for 5 hours. No need to be uptight like the AMC Theater at The Block, where they physically stand side by side to block patrons exiting a room from going back to the main lobby(very tacky and rude).
