I highly recommend Big City American Bistro for Sunday brunch! They have a great variety on their buffet display, the environment met my expection in a bistro, our waitress kept our glasses full--big plus!! and what's more, the price was reasonable!
I ate at Big City Bistro today and was horribly disappointed. After rave reviews I had high expectations.
My party of 3 wasn't greeted at the door, we had to walk aimlessly around 20 feet before a waitress would turn and say something to us. Not that big of a deal, the place looked nice and the atmosphere was inviting.
I ordered the Portebello Mushroom w/Crab stuffing as an appetizer. When it arrived I was stunned to see simply a 2in by 2in crabcake resting on a mushroom with simple garden lettuce on the side. The crab cake lacked flavor and was overcooked. The mushroom was undercooked. For $7 the portion was extremely insulting. I tried the Cajun Pork sandwich for my entree. The bread was too doughy and the pork was disgustingly dry. The spicy honey mustard mayo was good, but couldn't repair the travesty that was that sandwich. My wife ordered the French Dip and thought it was a "4/5". I tried it and found the sandwich to be very bland. On the other hand, I was able to eat that sandwich and the Cuban sandwich I had ordered was UNEATABLE. Our waitress was a blond lady who was bitterly cold. My wife was looking for some suggestions and the lady was of no help.
The sweet potato fries were delicious. The regular fries were average.
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is overrated, overpriced and overtly horrible.
My husband and I had received a gift card to Big City American Bistro, so we took our kids and tried it for the first time. We loved it! Not only did they have a wide variety of dinner entrees but also a lot of dessert options to choose from. The prices are moderate but for the quality and taste of the food it is well worth it.I would recommend this restaurant to anybody. Every time we have visitors from out of town we take them here for dinner at least once.
