El Toro#2 is an alright mexican resteraunt. The service is the best that I have seen in a long time even when they are busy. The food and service is prompt however I have had better mexican food in southern California but it is alright for a small midwestern country town. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is very full filling and priced very inexspensive compared to other establishments in town. Other than the food not being of high quality as some of the mexican resteraunt food chains it is a good place to go and eat and be with family and friends.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICES, GREAT SERVICE!!: El Toro II on Neil St. in Champaign has to be the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. This is real authentic Mexican food, (including their delicious fried ice cream), at a very, very affordable price. Not only are the prices affordable for that meal, you normally receive so much food that you nearly always take a box of leftovers home for another quick and tasty meal. The service is also great, someone is always near to re-fill drinks or bring more chips or salsa. Once in a while you may have to wait a few minutes to eat but it is well worth your patience. Not only is this my favorite place to eat Mexican food, it is probably my favorite place to go out to eat overall.
the best Mexican food in town!: I think this is the best Mexican restaurant in town. The lunch menu is so cheap that the prices compare to Taco Bell but of course much more delicious!

First, I want to slap anyone who calls CU "a small midwestern country town". A "small midwestern country town" is a place like Monticello. Not a college town of 100k+. You make it sound like a po-dunk little redneck village straight out of Deliverance. Second, I'd say Southern California should neither be referenced here nor anywhere because no one cares. Finally, calling it a chain places it in the same category as crap like Chi-Chi's, Chevy's and the like. No chain will ever be as authentic as this place. I'm sorry for being so harsh. Everyone has their own tastes but somehow, the way this was written really bugged me. I read your other reviews and I'm going to have to agree with you on The Ribeye. They have a great salad bar but that's about it. I can also cook a better steak than them.
