Boy did I love this place when it was Toshi's Sushiya, which was hands down the best Sushi place on the entire Peninsula (and I've been to just about all of them). When it changed to Koma, there was an immediate drop in quality and service and we stopped going for quite a while. I am happy to report that after two recent visits, the quality is back up to excellent. I can't give it 5 stars because the old Toshi's is still my benchmark for perfection. Also, the service can be slow and almost makes me want to knock this down to 3 stars. But as long as the quality remains high, we will be coming back.
Truly excellent chicken terriyaki (sweet but not too salty) and steamed rice that my kids simply love. Also great sushi for the adults. Well worth a trip - a very pleasant change from family dinners at chevy's or a burger joint, for sure.
Great sushi, if you have 4 hours to spare: The food is fantastic, unfortunately the same can't be said about the level of service. Any satisfaction of a well cooked (or in this case, well cut) meal will slowly dissapate during the long periods of not being attended to for re-fills on soda or sake and beer orders or simply to get the check. I like the food, but unless you alot at least 2 hours, you'll be late for anything afterwards.

I go here all the time--my favorite peninsula restaurant! The food is just great and wonderful sushi, as good as any place in the city. I've never had a problem with slow service--you do need to be assertive when wanting your check--otherwise, it's all good! I give it 4 stars. It's small, and very popular, hence some occasional wait times. But it's more than worth it!
