Why are there so many reviews??? I traveled here from Beaverton, OR to go to this restaurant. Elegant as it was, I just saw it as another corporate upper-middle class chain that doesn't deserve my money. But what do I know? I'm just a localist ;) Anyway, I got tofu or something and it was very tasty. I prefer the more family-owned Chinese restaurants. There is such a big difference! Here the food essentially lacks a home-made quality. Definitely Americanized. But I suppose it was still good.

Pretty good. But the manager and chefs should check out the Roseville Chang's. The food there is 10 times better. We love the crispy shrimp which was OK here, but the Mongolian beef which is always fabulous in Roseville tasted odd the 3 times I ate at this downtown location. The sauce is not as sweet, very salty, and the beef was tough. We had an office party there on day and the service was OK but they took forever to get the food to us. Nice to have a Changs downtown but I sure wish the food was as good as the other Changs. Still worth trying. The best dishes are the crispy shrimp, Mongolian beef, Changs spicy chicken and the lettuce wraps. Get the giant piece of chocolate cake too. It is worth it.

Yes - Look like you responded to my comments on a restaurant! I hope your not doing your ride there. I don't know how much time you have or where your located, but some of the local horse magazines would be really good and they might put in an ad for free if it is a charitable event. There is "Ride!and Western Times" magazine, "West Coast Horseman", Horsemans News, California Horse Trader, and Riding - California Magazine. For the local area post notices at all feed and hay shops, Post them at all the local boarding stables, contact the Loomis Basin Horseman's Assn. Post them at the large animal Loomis Basin Animal Hospital and post a notice on the Bay Area Equestrian Network online. Contact UC Davis Equestrian Facility, Sacramento Horsemans Assn. Wish I could think of more!

My first experience at PF Chang's was not that great. For my husbands's 28th birthday, we invited our family (a party of 10) for dinner at the Sacramento location. They took our reservation for a Saturday night and even pushed it about 15 minutes since our out-of-town guests were running a little late. The servers were friendly and we were excited for a great birthday dinner. But it did not get much better after our arrival. Right off the bat, our server spilled my mom's Mai Tai and splashed my sister-in-law. The hostess promised a high chair for my 2-yr-old niece and completely forgot about it. After about 15 minutes of waiting, she brought a booster seat instead and recognized her mistake. Another server took over during a break and almost forgot to mix the appetizer sauce. They gave us a 2nd round of crab wontons, which we did not order. Then, our entrees came out and we were thrilled! That is, until yet another different server failed to pay attention to the fact that he was holding a hot dish of beef with broccoli over my father's head and drizzled the sauce on the top of his bald head, down his neck, and down into the back of his shirt. Only after my father screamed "Ouch!" about 3 or 4 times did the server realize that he was spilling the bubbling juices on my father did he stop what he was doing. He ran to get napkins to clean up the mess then disappeared soonafter apologizing. The manager was quick to show up and find out what happened. With more apologies and a promise for free appetizers and dessert all around, he even came out himself to serve one of the dishes that was not delivered the first time, bring a plate for my father-in-law that they also failed to pass out originally, and refilled a couple of empty glasses. He even wished my husband a Happy Birthday in spite of it all. It was an interesting experience at best and I would hope things like this don't happen often. I don't know that most of our dinner party would ever go back there. Hope that others who decide to check out the place have better luck and better service!
