Applebee's Neighborhood Grill

I am a regular customer at Applebee's whenever I am in the area.I find that ever since the last manager left several months ago that the service has gone way down hill at this particular store. The food when it comes out is always great whomever is running the kitchen seems to be doing a fantastic job, however the service has gone by the wayside. Several times I have ordered food and watched as the servers congregate and talk and horse around while I wait at lunch to get my food and beverage. Twice my food was ordered by myself on days when only two or three customers were in the store and My drink came but because they were conversing about everything but what they should have been my food was not ordered. I had to ask and was told oops I'm sorry I forgot to place your order. Would you still like me to put in your order? My reply was no that after waiting 35 min. for boneless wings or a Burger I did not have time left on break to wait longer. The manager Wanda was right there on one occasion within 2 feet and I know she heard what was said. She never once approached me and apologized or tried to rectify the situation. Instead I was given a check for my drink. I paid and said thank you and left. Way to go Applebee's keep hiring from the bottom of the apple barrel. You should be ashamed to have management and service like that.

Poor Food: While I usually get great food from the South Boston Applebees, on Mon. 1/1/07, I ordered the rib-eye (rare) with garlic, chili shrimp from the carside to go menu,(which I called in). It's a Tyler Florence special. The steak had no seasoning flavor at all & over half was fat. Not your regular marbling but big globs of fat. While I couldn't eat most of it, my dogs loved it. The parsley on top was a complete waste as well. The only things worth eating were the 4 or 5 shrimp & the stir fry vegetables even though they were swimming in sauce. The triple chocolate melt down had less than half the ice cream as is normal. Why couldn't the Tyler Florence herb crusted chicken stay on the menu instead of that nasty steak ? The chicken was the best dish I've had there in a long time. I even had that 5 times in a week & a half. I recommended it to everyone I could. Please, please bring back the herb crusted chicken & throw out the rib-eye with garlic,chili shrimp!!!

get yo' grub on!!!: I like this place because it's kept clean #1 i love to know that iam in a clean restaurant. They are courteous,pleasant faces take and start your order as soon as you are seated. And you get a drink and appetizer while you wait for your food. The only thing about here i don't like sometimes is the long wait. Other than that it's the best thing that hit the South since grits. (LOL)
