Long John Silver's and A&W are together, and you can taste it. The A&W burgers & fries were soggy and tasted fishy. After the A&W experience we were foolish enough to try Long John's (I blame my husband for this) and it too was awful. While one assumes (hopes) that they change their fry oil, it's not often enough. Nasty stuff on both sides- I'll never go back. The ONLY positive is the rootbeer floats at A&W, and that's the only reason I'm giving this review one star.
As a former employee of LJS, I was utterly disappointed with the appearance of the this restaurant. There was visible mold around/on the ice maker of the soda machine, trash on the side of the soda machine, "muck" inside of the vinegar bottles with dirt in the ridges of the tops. I returned my fries because they were cold. The mananger proceeded to get me a new order. However, after touching them with his bare hands, he stated, "Hey can I get some new fries. These are cold." Yet, he gave the cold ones to a customer that had placed an order for take-out. The fries were also "seasoned," a practice that I wasn't familiar with LJS performing. In addition, the fries, fish, chicken, and shrimp had what I would call "grease debris" on/in the batter. It was obvious that it had be a long time since the cooking oil had been changed.
A&W with a Long John Silver's: Wow, imagine that an A&W with a Long John Silver's in Hawaii! They don't even have LJS anywhere in the mainland anymore, that I am aware of. LOL
