I love the food, but stopped going when I saw that they had an 80-something for their sanitation score... not sure if this has been raised now or what, but it's a little scary!

kind of different, but we both liked it. We went for lunch, i don't know what the other reviewer meant by expensive, 7$ a plate wasn't bad. There was no menu i saw, we had a choice of soups, then made our way to the counter. All the various ingedients were on ice, the selection was good, all the different meats (chicken, beef, calamari, soy, shrimp, scallops ect.) were still frozen and most of them were shaved. I normally don't care for buffets, but this was deffinetly different and I felt completely comfortable with it. You start with a bowl, add whatever looks intresting, take your pick of the various sauces, and it is then placed on a large flat metal grill. This is where it gets intresting, the cooks, who are just on the other side of the ingredients, work your meal around this circular grill once or twice using these sort of long sticks, and then in one expert move, flick everything off the grill and perfectly onto your plate. It actually comes out pretty good, although i do recommend thinking about the combinations you put together. I also think the major attraction is you getting a decent meal in a very intresting manner, for a good price. certainly a novel place for a date. The staff didn't do the best job explaining the procedure to us, but honestly the confusion actually started conversation with others and almost added to the feeling of a bit of adventure. When we were there it wasn't overly busy, although i'm curious to see how a packed house affects things. I would also recommend they add a few ideas or house recommended combinations of ingredients someplace near the start of the line because honestly my first trip through i just sort of randomly pilled things in, half because i was still figuring the process out, half because i didn't know what ingredients or sauces were further down the line. I also highly recommend trying the "mongolian" sauce with beef. speaking of which, the waiting in line wasn't long and again i thought added some more social interaction. Each individual plate comes out to a reasonable amount, although it was good enough i went back for several, and it is suprising how different each one tastes, although i will say if the meal cooked before yours is loaded up with spicy items you will certainly notice it. likewise, i would caution anyone with a food alergy to be careful as there is a single common grill which everything is cooked on, so there is quite a bit of cross over contact. It is certainly clean and everything was well cooked, but you can't grill out alergies. I think to sum it up, a good place, pretty good food and they're certainly in their own catagory, so this may not be what your in the mood for, but if you are this is really the only place like it in town. All in all, again, a new and fun suprise in Wilmington dining and we will certainly be back again.

This place is great...except you get full so fast.: My husband took me to Bdobo for the first time yesterday (his second visit). The only thing I knew about Mongolia was the tales of Genghis and Kublai Khan (they were Mongolian, right?). I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, I was not disappointed. Almost like a normal buffet, you take a bowl and fill it with noodles, vegetables, and meats/seafood (raw, but frozen). Top it off with a few ladles of the large variety of sauces and hand it to one of the grill chefs who rotate it around on a large donut shaped hibachi grill with two big, wooden sticks. Watching is almost enjoyable as eating! Afterwards, they serve your custom made meal to you on a plate and you can add any seasonings or additional sauces before going back to your table (where fried rice and a delicious sesame bread await). The best news...you can go back as many times as you want. Good luck making it more than twice. I'm still full from yesterday and I could only go up once.
