Zanzibar

We live in the Menomonie area, but travel extensively. Zanzibar ranks right up there with any metropolitan restaurant we've frequented anywhere. The owners and staff are always on their game, and it is very refreshing to dine at a more relaxed pace. KUDOS to Zanzibar for stepping outside the cookie-cutter box of restaurants and delivering five-star food and ambience, and the best hand-made martinis we have found anywhere. Keep it up!

I took my parents out here when they came to town to visit. It was shockingly way too expensive for the town/plate size/food. The food was pretty good (we just had a couple apps) and they have a cool martini list, but don't go here unless you plan to spend too much money.
They are trying to be hip like a downtown Mineapolis bar, but it's too much of a stretch for them.

Go for drinks only for a neat place. Eat at Skoogs, for way better food and a better price!

Great for dates and parties: We loved the variety on the menu, the wonderful friendly and attentive service, the flexibility of the chef, the preparation of the food, the cocktails, the ambiance, and the creativity. We've been there several times ourselves and also had a birthday party there with 20 people, which was a bit of a stretch, but they handled it with grace and good service.
