I found Folktales while searching fabric manufacturer, Bernatex's website for a local source of Nancy Halvorsen's quilt panels and coordinating fabrics.
This small shop was an absolute delight from the moment you pull into the parking area! The entry is beautifully decorated with plants and hand crafted items. We were greeted warmly by owner, Linda, who made excellent recommendations on companion pieces to the fabrics & quilt panels we were looking for, but also let us shop without being intrusive.
The atmosphere is warm and cozy, punctuated with small decor items for sale. The walls are hung with completed quilts, table runners, and handcrafted items including wool appliqued table pieces that coordinate with the season. She even had a few children's garments made from the wonderful coordinating top shelf flannel she stocks.
We spent two hours shopping and I'm sure I didn't get to see all that she has available! We found the highest quality of quilting cotton prints, flannels and wools. There were seasonal flannel prints, nursery prints as well as flannels well-suited to adult garment needs. She carries a wide variety of premiere fabric lines.
.
She had project books, patterns, notions, needlework supplies, embellishment kits for wall quilts, and an unbelievable selection of quilt kits, that include the coordinating back fabrics.
This shop is, hands down, the best quilt shop I have ever visited! It is definitely a 'must-shop' every time I go to Lynden!
