Bubba Gump Shrimp Company

I am only giving this place 1 star because of the service that we received. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly and the shift manager was very talkative, or at least until we told him that we did not find the food all that great. We found that the food was not seasoned at all. I ordered the Shrimpers Heaven, The coconut shrimp were good but the rest was extremely bland, the boiled shrimp tasted as if they were only boiled in plain water and were a little mushy. I am from the south and am use to a little seasoning on my food and when you eat seafood you know what you are eating as soon as you bite into it, not something so bland that it has no flavor what so ever.
This is only my opinion, as you can see for yourself, alot of people highly disagree with me.

I drove down to LA to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and offered to take him out to lunch. We did not have any place in particular planned but he wanted to eat some place by the beach. We chose the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company next door to the Aquarium. We ate out side.
It was a beautiful day today. The waitress was very friendly. I told her that it was my son's 21st birthday and she was all excited that we chose this place to have lunch and enjoy his first legal alcoholic beverage. She asked a bunch of Forrest Gump movie trivia questions.
I thought we were going to win a prize. LOL We each had a Blue Hawaiian and a beer, and we both ordered the Shrimp Heaven dish. It was delicious. It comes with 4 kinds of shrimp served on an elevated wire holder that holds 4 paper cones holding your shrimp. Coconut shrimp, Cajun shrimp, Shrimp tempura and a shrimp cocktail shrimp, with a large serving of french fries, three dipping sauces, and a side of cole slaw. Impressive presentation. Because it was his birthday, they gave my son a free chocolate sunday and a bunch of waiters gathered around our table to sing him happy birthday. Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Plus they have a souvenir ship where you can buy souvenir T shirts, key chains, bumper stickers, and other Bubba Gump Shrimp Company advertising speciality items. Kinda pricy but worth every penny. We were stuffed. We will definitely be back.

i wasn't going to try the restaurant for the first time because of a review i read on this page who gave this restaurant a 2star. BOY was i happy i took a risk!!
From when my husband and I walked in, up until we left the restaurant the service was EXCELLENT!
Our waitress Kate was wonderful. She went through the menu with us, gave suggestions, asked us qualifying questions before we actually took the order.
The suggestions she made were exactly what the 2star rater had, crab-stuffed shrimp. My husband had that and OH MY GOD!!!! that plate was seriously, sinnfully delicious! I can't describe in words how good that plate actually was. I had the Mahi mahi with mashed potatoes. My husband won't eat fish but i made him try the mahi mahi and he even liked it. The Pomegranate alcoholic drink was out of this world!!!
If you're a light eater this might not be the place for you. Food is high in Cholesterol, but seriously DELICIOUS!
This was our first visit and it will definately won't be out last! we plan to go back again in March for my birthday! I DEFINATELY RECOMMEND IT!!!!
