I went here for a birthday dinner, and while I can't remember the name of my dish other than that it was steak and was good, I just had a little too much wine. A great place to take a date.
Great place north of Danville's Gourmet Ghetto: A friend told us about Alamo Creek and we had hard time figuring out where it was. But once we found it (across from Yardbirds) we could not believe how quaint this place is or how good the food is. We sat in the back dining room and had a fixed price meal that included salad, entree, dessert and coffee. I had the Roasted Cornish Game Hen prepared in a Pomegranate sauce - delicious. Their wine list had a good selection at all different prices. At the end of the meal we were surprised at how reasonable it was. Same meal for two at Patrick David's would have been $120+. It reminded us of a Mediterranean bistro.
Went back again in Summer 2007 - Cornish Game Hen is still delicious.
Very dissappointed- will never go back!: I expected to find a small, friendly restaurant. Instead, the server was efficient, but very unfriendly. For "seasonal vegetables", I got 3 slices of overcooked carrots and sprigs of parsley. For an entree of scallops, I got 3 or 4 pieces of scallops that were sliced in half. Very small portions, left hungry even after dessert.

Just to clarify, the carrots are stewed. Thus the soft texture. They were excellent by the way. I have a friend from Persia. She makes her carrots the same way. The scallops problem was true but, the last time I was there, someone in my party had the scallops. They were HUGE! Their portions are not for the very hungry. Good prices though. Hope this helps.
