Categories: Argentinean Restaurants, Steak Houses
Very average! Over priced and I agree with previous review that quality is regressing. I have been their two times and will not go back.
Dining alone, I decided to sit outside on the patio. This was my first time here, and knowing how good most Argentinean steakhouses are, I decided to go for the most expensive steak on the menu, served with just steamed vegetables. The steak turned out to be about 1/4in thick and the vegetables looked like they had been in the steamer for about 2hrs!In asked the waiter "is this it?", and he told me that was what I ordered. Saw a lot of people going in there - but I still can't figure out why. I'll never go there again.
I have been to this restaurant 4 times, and have noticed it is gradually becoming mediocre. The portions are getting smaller, the prices are going higher. This general decay is expected, but on New Years Eve my wife and I were subjected to the worst dining experience we've ever had, ...anywhere.
First, the food. It had to have been in the refrigerator for 2 days. Stale, lacking flavor, even the antipasto spread was practically frozen. The food was not deservant of the $200 price tag (for 2), nor was the service deservant of the 18% obligatory tip. On top of that they had a space on the bill for an "additional gratuity". Are they friggin crazy???? The first course was a cheap slice of ham with pineapple. Then some asparugus soup - the waitor didn't even offer us any parmesan or pepper. And then, the main course: filet mignon. As I had been here before and enjoyed their skirt steak (barbequed) that is what I expected from this Argentinian restaurant. But the filet was cooked in some mushroom sauce and was disgusting. I nor my wife could eat it. We even refused to take the rest home with us. The desert was atrocious too: pear boiled in some cheap wine--the core hadn't even been removed. The other desert was a fruit cake that must have been created 3 days in advance and frozen. Stale and dry. By this point I just wanted my coffee and to end this nightmare on India Street.
The espresso was excellent. But for $200 don't you think a coffee would be part of the package? Apparently not.
When I made the reservations, the person on the phone said it was a "special" dinner. This is no way to treat people on New Years Eve. This restuarant has become greedy and overpriced. I will not be back, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

I ate there once, for the first time, and I thought the food and service was great. So much so that my wife and I are planning to go back. However, I printed out the negative comments written above and will compare them with our next dinner date there. If I find their comments valid as per our experience, I'll post my response here.
