excellent food and great service its the best food in bay area

My family and I have been dining at Mehran for a very long time now and we have never had a bad, or even lackluster, meal. The service is always terrific(thank you Dianne!)and the food amazing. There are so many dishes to choose from, including many vegetarian options, and the kitchen staff are very agreeable to customizing the spice level "mild", "medium" or "hot", which we take advantage of depending on the tastes of the friends we bring to share the experience. Our family favorites include Chicken Tikka Masala (the best we've ever had!), Nihari (a very spicy beef dish)and, all of the Biryhanis, palak paneer (spinach with Indian cheese and spices) and of course, Mango Lasees. I recommend trying the lunch buffet first to smaple many of their wonderful dishes and then returning to order formthe dinner menu. The restaurant is a very affordable fine dining experience, but the atmosphere is always welcoming. Dianne runs the dining room with aplomb, making every customer feel welcome and at ease, even if they are not familiar with cuisine of Pakistan or India.

Best Indian in Contra Costa. I've never been to a buffet where you don't feel like you are trading quality for buffet but here it's 1st class and well worth the price!
