The best thing about this place is the open deck/Cabo style bar. The whole back part of the bar is open and overlooks Cape Horn and a beautiful valley below which includes the American River Valley. The train tracks run through Robbers Ravine west of Secret Ravine (is there a story here?) so you can also watch the trains go by as you sip your mango margarita. Don't drive by this place.
Check it out. It has a great feel.

I would not go there for the food. It is standard bar food and they don't try to pass themselves off as a premire restaurant so if you are looking for this, go on down to Giovannis down the road. But if you want a cool geographic/topographic experience, a cold beer, and a burger, you'll be fine.

Cheers to the new owner. He is really trying to make this place special.

We can't wait to go back: It was snow on the mountain and we have been stock in I -80 for long time ... we have to stop to get some gas and asked the attendance where to find a place just to relax have little bit snack and drink... RED FROG is the place! the place is have very nice ambience, owner really have good collection... view is great ... is great to hang out with your good friend.

Great place: I take bustrips to this place from Sacramento. Everyone asks me when we are going back. Spectacular view from the back patio. Great staff.
