While I regularly read reviews on Yahoo, I’ve never felt compelled to write a review of any place. However, in this situation, I feel the need to counter the previous reviewer’s comments. I have always have had exactly the opposite experience as alleged by the reviewer and her friend.

I’ve been a Palms devotee ever since my mother (also a regular client) purchased a gift certificate for me for Christmas about three years ago. As self-professed “spa sluts,” neither my mother nor I will waste our time with places that provide sub-par massage & body treatments. Obviously, I find a lot to like about the variety of the spa menu and the skill and professionalism of the therapists & estheticians at Palms.

While Palms may not have all the amenities of some of the larger spas in the area, I don’t define the quality of a spa by the size of the water wall behind the reception area. When I walk into Palms, they greet me by name and have a clean robe and slippers waiting for me in a locker in the changing room. I have never had a bad service, whether it’s been a facial, massage or other body treatment- and I think I’ve tried every service on their spa menu!

My experience has been that the owners and staff have always gone out of their way to ensure that I and everybody else in my party are comfortable and happy. They have probably done more than any service-type business would deem necessary to accommodate me and my last minute appointments & occasional late arrivals. If I have not let the extent of my appreciation be known to them in the past, let this review do so now. Thank you for everything!

I found the Palms Day Spa through IE magazine and booked a package along with a friend visiting from out of town. I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed that I brought my guest there. We went in for the services and right away I was not provided with what I requested. They then fixed the problem, but had to compromise the quality of the service. I then had a message where I asked for the woman to spend a little more time on my back and less on my arms, before the massage therapist could respond the owner jumped in and said it wasn’t possible and I would have to pay extra if she concentrated in another area. I was in complete shock, I had never been in a massage where they did not ask if there was something that had been bothering me or I wanted more attention too. I did not ask for her to change the pressure, extend the time or add anything. During the massage I could not relax I was so upset. I had one more service and no longer wanted to have it, i explained to the owner (Dawn) how I had never had this happen and my disappointment, she did not care and argued with me, as well as charged me for the service that I did not have. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or CARE at this facility!!! If you want to be pampered and relax do not go here!!!
I am also skeptical that the 3 positive reviews below were all created on the same day…what are the chances???

I recently made a visit to The Palms Day Spa located in Riverside Ca. My wife had given me a Christmas gift certificate to the spa. Let me start out by saying "What an incredible and memorable time that I had" From the moment that I walked into the Spa I was greeted with a friendly therapist who made me feel as if I knew her. The professionalism I felt from the staff made my experience a very comfortable one. The fact that they have a space for men to get ready for a service was a definite plus! The Relaxation Room to wait in before my service was a place that allowed me to take my mind away from all of my stresses. Was this a ploy from my wife to get me to buy her a massage gift certificate? If it was, it worked. I would like to Thank all of the Staff at Palms Day Spa for an incredible experience I will be returning soon.

P.S. The gift shop works for me, my wife will know that I enjoyed my time there!!!!
