Whiskey River

For a $7 cover, I expect to be treated with respect throughout my stay at an establishment. Waitresses solicit shots and encourage heavy drinking, then the club hard closes and kicks everybody out like they were a bunch of low-life drunks. Hard close is when you cut the music, turn the lights on all at once, and bouncers start ushering people out immediately. Police are waiting outside to arrest patrons. Not fun. When I tried to go back in to use the restroom, a security guard violently threw me to the ground without provocation. An occifer Fulton of the Charlotte police watched it happen, did nothing, and threatened to arrest me instead if I did not leave immediately (or if I said his name aloud one more time). Horrible, horrible experience. I could not recommend the Whiskey River to anyone but masochists or people who are itching to fight a security guard. They will provoke you, no doubt. In December, they had a security guard arrested for selling drugs there and it made headlines where the media started calling the place Cocaine Creek. Find a nightclub with class, this is just an expensive, glorified redneck dive bar, complete with horned mechanical bull. I watched, they don't even try to make it move like a bull, the operator runs it like the bull was epileptic. If you do wind up here, please leave early and avoid the rip-off Jell-O shots, they are literally just shots of Jell-O, no liquor. Also, there was no DJ, they just had music DVDs playing real loud. No beat-mixing, no requests. Oh, and the beer at the front bar was warm, to make matters even worse.

I'll never go there again!!!!: This bar caters to cracked-out white trash. The bartenders were nice, but the bouncer and the waitresses were rude, nasty and without class. A couple of friends of mine were assaulted by a waitress and the bouncer - all because some crackhead waitress was jealous of my friend.

Don't waste your time and your money in this bar. This place should be shut down!

Whiskah: Great bartenders, great selection of drinks, and lovely girls are nearly a constant
