| About: | Creative, flavorful, and delightful, this restaurant has brought Italian dishes to the downtrodden downtown workplace. The menu is a fantastic gathering of pastas and sauces that are tasty and satisfying. Skip the salads for another visit, they are just mediocre at the moment and opt for the extra foccacia and olive oil instead. Popular items include Spaghetti with Clams in ream sauce and a very savory lasagna. It's best to go for lunch on foot or by bus since the area parking is either not available or non-existent, but the after work bar scene brings sophisticated singles and free parking at the First Hawaiian Bank building. - Lottie Tagupa |

I have eaten at Spada more than a couple of times. The owner is Italian from the Torino area. The food is good, very light but tasty; it's not oily or overly saucy as to kill the flavor of the dish. That's true for the pizza and the calzone. So if you are watching the size of your bottom but want to add some fun to your diet, then don't be afraid of Spada's menu. It's not the Buca di Beppo kind of mess. Very clean dining. The dude who gave one star to the venue, would probably like Sbarro at any lousy mall food court.
Cheers
Spada is more of a Bar than a restaurant catering to the over 30 something divorce' crowd. The food is mediocre and the music (though free) is an obnoxiously loud attempt to mimic the band Chicago. If you go there to eat, expect slow service and a limited menu of unexpectedly bland tasting Italian food. The Calzone was like eating plain mozzarella with mushrooms and no other flavor that one would normally expect in Italian cooking. The restrooms were disgusting, both men's and women's. This comes from an old sailor that is used to peeing anywhere (my wife told me about the women's head). Free parking in the First Hawaiian Center after 5pm was the only redeeming factor I could find for this place. I do not recommend Spada unless you are over 30 something, divorced and can handle slow service, bland food and don't care about where you pee.
Excellent!!! Food was so ono on Valentines Day! Menu selection was great. And Creme Brulee and Bread Pudding were delicious! The best restaurant on Oahu!
Mahalo nui loa!
