MUCH better than the old center!!!: Remember those hokey trips to the Science Center when you were little? Those faded memories of 70's decor and even older exhibits are blown away with the new, and very needed, new Science Center.

Seth and I made a visit in late July. I was pleasantly surprised with the building and as much as it cost, I should have been! My favorite part was the planetarium. Instead of only having 2 shows per day, they now have ongoing "jukebox" shows in addition to 4+ different programs. A word of caution, however; lying on the floor for an entire show will leave you crippled. While the floor is designed for patrons to lie down for a full experience, it is not designed for comfort. They may as well have painted concrete rather than install carpet. Alternatively, if you elect to sit and watch, your neck will feel the experience long after it's over.

IMAX was ok...we saw the Nascar show. (I wanted to see "The Living Sea")

All in all, the trip is worth the money. Just don't park in their ramp...they charge what I believe to be an enormous fee...considering how much time it takes to fully enjoy the center. Instead, drive around for 5 minutes and find a metered spot (free on nights and weekends).
