After several visits, I have yet to have friendly wait staff. The quiche keeps me coming back but after todays rude service I will be visiting another coffee shop for my Sunday breakfast. It is really to bad, because this is probably one of the neatest looking coffee shops I have been to in the US.

I wish I could like Rembrant's more than I do. It's a great building, the food is okay and the employees are nice, which are positives; on the negative side, on each of my four visits most of the coffee pots were empty (you’re given a cup and serve yourself coffee), which is odd for a coffee house, and it is usually impossible to find a clean, vacant table . Empty tables littered with dirty dishes have been the norm when I've visited, which is a shame as the ambiance is very nice otherwise. I personally go elsewhere now.

The self serve coffee is for those in a hurry, or just want brewed coffee. It is really convenient as you can pay via a jar. It's the only way to get a quick cup to go on a busy day. Behind the counter you can order any coffee drink you can imagine. 1/2 of the proceeds go to charity, so my money is with the local! Starbucks always taste too strong and burnt to me.

I live really close to Rembrandt so it originally became my coffee shop of choice for convenience sake. Since then I have grown to love this place. The atmosphere is beautiful, unique and roomy. The art is fantastic & I love that it doesn't look like it came from a generic coffee shop mold. The coffee is not only significantly better than most coffee shops, but also a dollar or two cheaper than anything you can find anywhere. The pastries are all really tasty and affordable (I personally love their scones and lemon bars). The gelato is also excellent. However, their salads and some of their cakes are generally overpriced for what you get (many are mediocre at best). The service is also hit or miss, but the staff is predominantly teenagers, so not much to be expected there. They also sell a number of humorous t-shirts. Overall, great place to get your morning buzz!
