A great place to eat...for a price: My wife and I visited the Harlequin on our anniversary this year, and it was our first experience there. I was fairly surprised by the high-class setting for our meal, and was not sure if we were properly dressed for the occassion, but other patrons were wearing jeans, so we felt ok after we saw that. We were seated near a fire place, and had a little time to check out the surrounding while deciding what we wanted to eat. The place seemed older, and the decor was not really what I was expecting, but we were there to eat, and we had been told the food was very good. We both decided to eat specials suggested by the waitress, who was very knowledgeable about all of them, and we decided to start with stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. The mushrooms were delicious, although the serving size was smaller than I would have liked. They had a crab meat stuffing that my wife and I enjoyed immensely. (By the way, try the homemade honey-mustard dressing - really good.) When our food came, though, we were glad there wasn't much to the appetizer. My wife had ordered grilled, stuffed pompano, and had opted for the lump crab meat to be placed on it. I ordered a pasta dish (I can't remember the name), that had large shrimp and lump crab meat in it, as well as some small crawfish. I dug in, and was instantly thrilled at the taste. This chef really knew what he was doing. I could tell my wife was enjoying her fish even more than I was enjoying my dish, so I tasted some of it. I was so impressed! I am not a fish eater, but I couldn't get enough of this pompano - which we'd never even heard of before that. There were a couple of very large shrimp on top of it, some crab based stuffing under it, and some sort of sauce and lump crab meat poured over the top, as well as a coating of some kind of spices over the top side of the fish. The taste was simply amazing.

Our bill came to a little over $80 (quite a bit more than we've ever spent on a meal before), but we felt it was well worth it, since the food was so good and the servers were really on top of everything we needed. We left a larger tip than normal, and ended up spending nearly $100 on our meal. Let me tell you, we are not normally the kind of people who spend this sort of money to eat out, and for me to give the value of this restaurant 5 stars is really a testament to how much we enjoyed ourselves and our food there. Very highly recommended, though maybe more for special occasions.
