Benjamin Franklin Elementary Math-Science Magnet

My daughter has been a student at Ben Franklin since last year. Ms. Lewis was her kindergarten teacher. I was really impressed with Ms Lewis and with the school as a whole. This year she is in the 1st grade and I can’t say I am as pleased this year. Her teacher is okay at best. I have had problems with her teacher returning my calls as well as answering notes that I send to her. But, my biggest issue with the school is the way they have handled my daughter being bitten by another student. I have called the office a couple of times and was told Ms Matthews (the principle) was busy. She must be to busy to answer a concern from a parent of a student in her school. I have not heard from that school and as of yet do not know the policy on biting. As far as I know, there has been nothing done to the biting child. I would be considered wrong if I had my daughter retaliate in someway. I trusted the school would handle it and keep me informed but that has not happened. There are other little things Ms Matthews could be doing better that I have over looked because you can never find the perfect school. But she does leave much to be desired.
