I do not have a daughter who attends this class nor would I ever. My sister in law has told me horror stories about what she pays for all the EXTRA's that are involved with going to Joni's Start Dancers. I have never heard of any of the requirements these kids need to take before they can even take a class. I'm just going to name a few:
1 - The kids all have to look the same???? Dance esp. at an early age should be a fun environment where they learn dance and are able to express themselves. They should not be required to wear everything the same or have to buy what Joni's says. As long as it's not street clothes, it should be fine.
2 - Have some respect and not take every age group...to me, that is all about the money, yes she is in business to make money but its seems that is all itâs about. How can you teach a child how to dance if they can not even use the potty....I know this, because my niece is not potty trained yet, Joni has no problem saying, sure, she can learn to dance (which I found out from this past show, that she did not learn anything). Put an age limit and gain some respect as being a real dance teacher.
3 â Does she give the parents of the 2 year olds the option to have the kids in more than one act or does she just let them know when itâs time to pay the ridiculous costume fee that they now need to shell out money for two costumes?? Age 2, two acts, two costumesâ¦something is really wrongâ¦esp. since they did not learn to dance anything.
4 - Why arenât parents able to have viewings during the course of the year?? What is she hiding behind closed doors (again something I figured out during the last show, she is not really teaching these kids much). She canât teach kids how to find their number on stage, an older child has to grab them by the shoulders and move them into place. So how do you teach a child to dance if they canât get themselves on stage? Answer: YOU DONâT TEACH THEM TO DANCE!
5 â Who does she know from AVON??? 9 dollars for make up?? Um, canât their parents put their own make up on their child???
Too much to say in one comment box, must use two.
I have been reading comments on this site as well as old ones from judy's. This is too unknown a studio for all this drama. Save yourselves the trouble and try someone like aganes strecker with great reputation
This place is AWFUL, Don't go there if you want good service provided to you and your child.
They have no seating areas, and they tell you to wait in the car. They run it out of their home and they don't give you items that you pay for. They trick you into purchasing expensive things and then you can't return or exchange them.
