I will definitely be a frequent visitor.: I went for the first (and 2nd) time last semester, and it was so much better that I had expected. I was afraid that i wouldnt like it because it was authentic Mexican food, unlike tacobell, but i really enjoyed it. I got a taco salad and i liked how they made it in front of you and asked what you want on it.
They also have a relatively large seating area, with tables and stools. i liked sitting at the stools and looking out onto Huntington. They also played really good music on the speakers, not too loud, not too soft.
i love it: I think the idea of homemadeburritos in front of you is the best idea. It's fresh and you can actually see all the ingrediants and have whatever you want.
It was the best I've tasted in awhile.
better than Anna's. seriously.: Of all the choices to replace McDonald's in Porter, a burrito joint is the strangest because of how close it is to the popular Anna's Tacqueria. But Qdoba actually has the edge in a lot of areas.
1. Cleanliness. The kitchen and the tables look much cleaner than Anna's. It's one of the cleanest fast-food places I've seen.
2. Service. I ALWAYS feel rushed at Anna's. Qdoba has more workers behind the counter, and it seems more efficient and less rushed.
3. Food. The ingredients look fresh and it feels a little less greasy. There are some special sauces, and a little more variety on the menu.
The drawbacks are that it's not as dirt-cheap as Anna's. You also lose the charm of being at a local phenomenon.
