The food tastes OK, the service is poor, and we had stomach aches (both of us) both times we went there.
This place offers the best dim sum north of the D.C. Metro. Avoid on holidays as the crowds are horrendous. The diversity of the offerings are extremely good. I have, however, noticed a B.O. scent from some of the wait staff on occasion. Enjoy.
Taiwanese mother-in-law approves: Among Columbia/Ellicott City's admittedly slim pickings of Chinese restaurants, this one is clearly a standout. Took my mother-in-law visiting from Taiwan, and she actualy said it was quite good, and with some authentic dishes. The steamed Chilean Sea-bass was exquisite, with tender meat and delicate sauce. Cold jelly fish / beef tendon appetizer was wonderful. The peapod-shoots with bamboo fungus had my mother-in-law raving. Frogs with yellow chives was tender, melt-in-your mouth. Even Chinese-American standards, such as sesame chicken, were well done, with none of the heavy brown-glop sauces so typical of suburban Chinese restaurants. Recommended.
