The Piedmont of North Carolina is NOT the place to go looking for good pizza. You're pretty much limited to the standard fare.... cardboard with cheese.... from Domino's, Papa John's and Little Caesar's. This is what makes Piccolo Milano such a pleasant surprise.
It's not as good as you'll find in New York or Chicago, but it's head and shoulders above anything else you can find in this area.
They offer a buffet during the week that comes with the salad bar for $5.99. Individual pizzas are more expensive than the fast-pizza joints mentioned above, but well worth the extra money.
Good Value and Friendly Service: Modestly priced at $5.99, the pizza buffet offered reasonable variety and quality for the price. The pizza had a terrific crust, ample toppings, and it was not overly laden with sauce. Hot pizza steadily streamed from the kitchen, ensuring that the buffet remained fresh and well supplied. The servers were friendly and attentive while the dining area was exceptionally clean.
