The food is priced cheap, just like the food. It wasn't the worst but it sure wasn't even close to top 25. It is owned by 2 young brothers Josh and Jeremy that barely know how to run a restaurant. They both drink while on the job, getting drunk as one makes your drinks and the other cooks your food. Real nice!! If you sit around long enough for the poor service and underage drinking, you'll hear wonderful stories about how these brothers have inappropriate relations with their staff and patrons. My party and I were appalled to say the least. To be honest, I have no idea how this place is still even open. It is definitely not a family restaurant. It’s more of a hang out for young people, many underage and friends of the owners…if that’s what you like, go for it.

This rating was from a former girlfriend of one of the owners, and she has previously been arrested and convicted of attacking and beating him with a canoe oar, so please take her review for what it is worth. Thank you.

After spending yet another wonderful evening at the Lazy Lion Cafe this weekend, I decided it was time for me to express a small degree of my passion for the atmosphere provided by this lovely place and the evident effort put into pleasing customers by owners and waitstaff alike. It surprises me to see that anyone does not consider this restaurant one where families are welcome because on all occasions I have been in, I have been so impressed to see that it provides such a welcome and friendly environment for both children and adults. Being a family-run business, I do not see how it would be possible to entirely separate personal life from business life but Josh and Jeremy certainly maintain an appropriate balance. A hang out for young people? Certainly. A great place to bring your family for a delicious meal and fun entertainment? That too. I don't see this place shutting down anytime soon and I couldn't be happier to have come upon it and be able to spend such wonderful evenings there. All my thanks to the staff there, in particular, Josh and Jeremy, who have created such a treasure in the town of Deerfield!

I don't know craigsmflyboy....I would take what you were told with a very small, small grain of salt. I've been living in this town for a long time, and know many people, including these owners. I have heard stories upon stories and seen a few things myself (discreet isn't their specialty) to know that some of what was said definitely holds a large amount of water. As far as the attacking issue.....I hope you did your research on that as well and didn't just take someone's word. As we speak, a police report is being written up due to one of these owners beating up his pregnant former girlfriend while intoxicated on several occasions and throwing her down some stairs. I know this couple, I guess you can now say ex, for quite sometime and had a few run ins with them. It's completely ignorant of you to accuse her of doing such a thing and then writing a review on yahoo because you have chosen a side based on one person's story without knowing all facts. Go pick up a police report when it is done. And get the previous while your at it. Read them. I will say one more thing before ending this.....the cafe has changed alot since it opened about 6yrs ago. I have been there through all of the previous owners, now up until Josh and Jeremy. It has not changed for the better. The food maybe okay but the aura around it, is negative and deceitful.

a.real.local....you must have some sort of personal ties with the owners to be saying what you did. Apparently you know more detail than I. I hope yours is based off fact as well. I was only saying that craigsmflyboy needed to do a little more research rather than going off someone else's word. There are always two sides. I hope your not that ignorant. I only commented on the review initially because I too have seen some of the bad changes at the restaurant and can relate to what was said. Not that I need to explain anything to you, or to the owner of this former girlfriend, but yes I do have knowledge of what happened that night about 2 yrs ago. I did see the police report. That is why I suggested that craigsmflyboy go and read it. Now you, for some reason are telling me to read them again. Some people plead guilty to get things over with and put behind them. If he was such a victim then why didn't he press charges against her instead of the state? Why did he contact the prosecutor to see about dropping the charges but failed due to it being out of his hands? Why did he get back together with her and then get caught driving her around in his car shortly after which is the reason she did spend time in jail? There are reasons for this. This recent incident i have knowledge of also. It wasn't done in retaliation and would have been filed by the state if she hadn't done so due to evidence that was presented. Tell me a.real.local.....are you one for hitting, choking, dragging by the hair or throwing down the stairs a pregnant woman? Regardless of what she has done? Were you raised by your parents to hit a female period? I sure wasn't.

Fantastic dining experience. From the moment we walked in the door the waitstaff was friendly and helpful, yet not intrusive. Initially, the menu seemed pricey, but my change of heart came when I received my fillet cooked to perfection. The desert menu was truly the icing on the cake, with a full bar to serve delicious cocktails after our meal. I give the Lazy Lion restaurant 5 stars. Great place, great environment, and friendly people made my experience a wonderful one, and I will surely be going back for another round.

I love this place and it has recently been taken over by new owners. The food is amazing and also they now do mixed drinks as well as beer and fine wines. I would highly reccommend this place and also they have very nice locals who come and play music.
They have a new sports bar too....As a matter of fact I'm going there tonight to have their famous Steak Tips...Yum Yum.

Hope to see you there :)
