User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy family and I decided to get some Chinese food in Johnstown because my wife had a work related event she needed to attend, so based on the reviews of others on Yelp and Yahoo Local, we decided on the Hong Kong Buffet. We were hopeful that it would be as good as the Hong Kong Buffet in Altoona, which is our favorite Chinese buffet. We were not disappointed! They have a very similar selection as Altoona and the quality of the food is great! Another good sign was that it was very busy, so a lot of people must like it.
The young ladies serving drinks and taking dirty dishes were less than happy to be there, but they weren't mean or inconsiderate. Most of the time though at Chinese buffet's, the help really makes a big deal of the kids and gives everyone a laugh. This is not so, here.
The only other thing I would recommend is a little bit better care and cleaning of some of the facility. The food areas were very maintained, but the outside area and parking lot is very littered and should be cleaned up. Also, their is a fountain in the entry way that is very dirty (Algae, etc.) and the fish tank in the dining area I was in needed cleaned, as you could barely see the fish in the tank.
To summarize, if you want a great Chinese buffet dining experience with a good selection, choose this location! Maybe next time they will have walnut chicken, which is my favorite dish, but the walnut shrimp and honey chicken are decent substitutes.
