I just filed a complaint with the AG's Consumer Protection Office against Three Rivers Electric Service for deceptive billing. A subsequent short investigation of mine revealed that, as should be expected, Three Rivers Electric Service has a long history of rip-offs. There is a May 13, 2005 article in the Post Gazette by Lawrence Walsh (available online) narrating how they charged a customer $572 for changing a fuse in the breaker box. The article also reports that, as far back as 2005, the Consumer Protection Office was looking for customers that had been wronged by that company, in spite of the fact that it is not the Office's normal policy to name the companies they are investigating.

total rip-off: Just warning you of this sneaky, confusing, total rip-off's that don't perform the jobs they should have done.This company has many other electric companys with different names. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will not use again: I was completely disappointed when I used this company. I feel that I was taken advantage of due to not knowing a lot about electricians. I had to commit to pay several hundred dollars before they would even tell me what was wrong, which in my opinion was something that they could have told me on the phone, so I could have evaluated whether or not the price was reasonable. I will not use this company again.
