Firehouse Lounge

I've been there probably 10 times over the last few years. Very hip place, with hip music and great crowd. It's small and the dance space can get crowded but everyone on the floor is having fun.

Many times the seating around the dance floor (the only seating there is, really) is reserved which is not so great if you want to sit. I've seen a bachlorette party everytime I go there. So, unless you've reserved, plan on standing. There is an outside balcony, with provisions for cold weather, with additional seating and another DJ/dance floor.

Its a very mixed crowd, which is something you don't see in the city much. More like a lounge you would see in NYC or Europe, maybe.

The crowd seems older post college age, or at least more mature. No binge drinkers celebrating their 21st birthday.

It still surprises me that the Firehouse Lounge is still a "hidden hot spot", but thank god for that. I have to admit, I was a skeptic the 1st time I checked this place out, I thought it will probably last a year and then do what every other club in Pittsburgh does: switch to $1 drinks and bad music. But almost 5 years later this spot is still setting trends that no one else seems to be able to follow. It's like they have figured out an equation for nightlife.

Just when I thought they couldn't reinvent, they did it by expanding their menu and their 1st floor. I happened to stop in on a Thursday for happy hour and ended up staying until almost 11pm. They have the BEST burgers I've ever tasted which paired perfectly with the 1/2 priced bottle of wine and FREE jazz.

If you are new to Pittsburgh and want to avoid the cheesy nightclubs or smokey hipster bars, The Firehouse Lounge should be a first and last stop on your map. Heck I'd even make a night at the Firehouse Lounge a part of my Pittsburgh Bucket List.

Firehouse is my favorite lounge/club in Pittsburgh! If it wasn't for Firehouse, nightlife in this city would be miserable! Trust me, there's no other place with such great staff, yummy appetizers, best and only House Music, International beats, hip-hop and R&B!!! OOhhh and the people , they are Hot, cool, wild, fun, very international...which means that whatever you're looking for to enjoy, you'll find there.
I'm a regular and won't change it for any other place in Pitt!!
