About:Roti Grill is a casual Indian restaurant. Regular plates are on the small side, but they also offer Texas portions, larger servings for a slightly higher price. Roti's children's menu is populated by perennial kid favorites like chicken nuggets and French fries, perfect for picky eaters. It has become a local treasure partly due to the food and partly due to the B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Booze) policy. Don't forget to stop in for the lunch buffet.

I eat Indian food often, and it is one of my favorite cuisines. This is something different. You could say the Roti Grill is to Indian Cuisine what McDonald's is to a good steak house. Our group chose this restaurant based on positive reviews on this site; let us suffice it to say we highly disagree.

I come from Ranchi in India country and I never have seen such good eat as this Rothi Grill!! Its delectations mark my memory as the very too good! I try to attend the booths there at least once a wekk or sometimes 4 times! Whatever u seem to like, weather it is the green curry, samosas, tamales, or gulab jammin,i t is all this great! Shubash! The atmospherics is very firendly and you will have no troubles with your food stuffs. I took my friend Shalamar with me to last week's session and he will never return without pocketbook! He loves it to his core...and me also i love it it is so good and true. It is as your American wrestler hero Mark Twain says "I have time to eat when called upon". I never go back to Ranchi except for in summers and winter month, and when I do I tell them they are not Rothi Grill. They say why we are not Rothi and I say because rothi is not India, bt India is in Rothi. Friend we look inside ourselvs to purchase that which is good and human. You can order dishes to be mild, hot, extra hot, extra hoit, and extra extra hot which is called phaal. It Is inside joke, since phaal mean big chested in Bengali children rhymes. If youa re not used to spicy food best stick with mild or medium, because you will burn your mouth with extra spicy haha! Steer clear if you are shakahaari becuase their chicken is very too good! Many thanks, friends! Please go to this place and tell them I sent you to the place! Don't forget to get the Texas sized portion which are large than the smaller plate.

I liked the Roti Grill, the food is fairly good, though inconsistent. We ordered our food "hot" for example, and one entree (lamb vindaloo) was much more spicy than the other (lamb saag). Still, both were well prepared (if a bit salty for my taste), the naan bread was nice and light, and the selection of beers enjoyable. I think the samosas are made with regular wheat flour on the outside, not chickpea flour, so they don't taste quite right. It's a pleasant enough atmosphere for a restaurant that has no waiter service (you order it at a counter at the door and they cook it and bring it).

Two points - a vindaloo dish will always be much hotter than any other dish - it is meant to be hot - the saag dish is with spinach and usually much milder - so to expect these dishes to taste the same although they are lamb based (or chivken or other meats) is not correct. Samosas are always made with wheat flour not with chickpea flour - must be confusing samosas with pakoras (which are made with chickpea flour and are like fritters).

    Fair enough :)
