I needed to confirm whether or not my laptop was worth repairing or not. The shop confirmed it was $59 for diagnostics without repair or $129 likely with repair plus parts. Unfortunately the parts ended up being more than the computer was worth but they did say to contact HP to see if they would honor the extended warranty since it was over 2 years old.
Well because of their recommendation I contacted HP and they have opted to repair my laptop motherboard for free!
Thanks for the recommendation as it was the best $60 I could have spent.
This shop also sells some computer parts and cases in addition to repair services. All of the stuff they sell looks like cheap plastic junk they bought in bulk from some Chinese dropshipper. I have not used their service, but did have the misfortune of buying a cheap no name brand optical mouse here. One of the friction pads on the bottom fell off two days into ownership. I proceeded to return it. The employee who was there refused to return it without approval from the manager. Okay fine. I go up there three more times without success, no manager on duty. I go up there another time over a month later. No manager, but different employee. I told the employee I was in the market for a new computer case. Then I proceeded to try to return the mouse. He calls manager as the return is past 30 days. The manager didn't care that I wasted gas to come up there at least 3 time previous, he was not taking back the mouse. So you are going to possibly lose any future sales and lose a customer over a cheap mouse with no brand name on it? Well I guess the answer is yes.
