My husband and I had lunch at the Bandera Saloon on April 3, 2009. My husband had Chili and Herb Tenderloin and I had Shiner Bock BBQ Hog Wings. Both dishes were cooked and served by Jacob Cooper. The meals were absolutely awesome!!! We expected something sloppy but were surprised to see such fancy meals at a Saloon. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection (medium). It was fresh, juicy, and delicious. Even better than the steak was the warm macaroni salad. Great food, ice cold beer, and a clean bathroom. Yeah!!!!
On 2/17/08 we visited the Bandera Saloon in Texas, a great beer bar. I am from the O.C. in California and my cousin is from Boston. We have a "girls week away" once a year form our families and work. We came to Bandera, the "Cowboy Capital of the World" to do some riding', drinkin' and making' new friends!!! We hit the Saloon on a Sunday night becasue of travel plans and had a nice time. It wasn't too smoky, nice atmosphere, open doors made you feel welcome. Only locals were there since it was Sunday night, so we looked pretty out of place. I (Karen) met Michael who was a welder , a very nice looking, nice dancing, nice guy. We danced to karaoke. The singer (manager I believe) with the long blond hair was excellent. however, the young waitress who decided to sing was HORRIBLE (like scratching on a blackboard, We wanted to pay her $20 to STOP singing)! Michael, you danced and sang great, hope to hear from you!
Oh, the young bad singing waitress must also have a jealous streak, she tried to trip me and body slammed me as she went passed my table twice...hum, Texas hospitality?? Don't think so! Didn't think I was that much of a threat! I'm a bit older than her!
