Okay, let me vent my anger with this place once and for all...

I went this past January to the Space Needle Sky City Restaurant for my birthday. It was my mom and I's first time to Seattle and we were psyched! But this restaurant made us very, very disappointed. I called a week before to ask about the dinner prices and they told me that if we had dinner there, we would get a complementary ride up the elevator. So we were like, that sounds great! When we arrived there, the worker told me to remove my hat (gosh, it was cold outside, what did he expect??) Then we went up the elevator and were seated in an incredibly DARK restaurant. I mean this place was so dark that we had to hold the dinky lamp on the table really close to our menus so that we could see the prices. Oh, and NO WONDER it was set up this way, because the prices were insanely expensive! But, since it was my birthday we decided, why not splurge a little and buy some appetizers? The waiter took our orders and mentioned some facts about the city. What he completely failed to mention was oh, I don't know, that small detail that there was a $30 limit per person if we wanted to get the free elevator ride deal!! So there we were: 2 appetizers, 2 fancy (but tiny and unpleasant meals), and 1 volcanic ice cream dessert later,(no joke, the ice cream had this fire burner below it to give it a steamy effect and it exploded in my face!!) we were facing a $130 dollar bill between the both of us! (did I mention I am a struggling college student?) After this "memorable" meal, we went down a floor and talked a little about the major rip off we had just experienced only to be totally frightened by the waiter standing behind us! He said with a suspicious look, "You forgot your umbrella" We nervously laughed and said, "I wonder if he heard us?" Overall, bad experience here. Please go with caution or just go for the scenery. Or if your also not willing to spend over $30 bucks for a miniscual and unsatisfying meal, just don't go at all!
    I hope I have helped!

Best for families: Visited Seattle Center this past weekend and it was so serene. Lots of families and couples eating ice cream and riding the different rides. I was there with my son and we just had a calm, good time. For a quick stress reliever with the family nothing beats Seattle Center.

Dining at the top of the needle.: Eating at Sky City is quite an experience. I especially love going for brunch on the weekend. For $45 you get a complete meal. The food is pretty good. They have the best Caesar Salad I've ever tasted. The service is pretty good, though the waiters tend to be a little bit snooty. The best part of the experience is the view. The restaurant revolves, so you get to see the entire Puget Sound within an hour. It's definitely a fun place to go.
