| About: | MoMA is considered by many to be one of the best modern art museums in the world and with a major renovation recently completed by Yoshio Taniguchi, it has only become better. The building was erected in 1939 under the supervision of Edward Durrell Stone and Philip Goodwin. The galleries are filled with paintings, drawings, prints, illustrations, and photographs. Besides Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe and Pablo Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, there are plenty of other classics to view. There is also a restaurant and a museum shop. Check the website for admission prices, event times and more. |

Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: Wont go to again. Picture was ridiculously blurry and the floors were very dirty.
Not impressed. Much of the museum is abstract contemporary art that is not impressive at all and there's a floor dedicated to achetecture that is all PICTURES! Yes, you are paying to look at pictures of buildings! Skip this so-so museum and see The MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art) or the Guggenheim, both MUCH better that the over-rated MoMA.
The new building worth the price of admission: We visited the newly designed space at Christmas. The building was gorgeous, minimalist, clean, modern without being uninviting. I took my 18-year old son from top to bottom, and he was bowled over by the contents, especially Starry Night by Van Gogh. It was a memorable and uplifing experience.
