Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: You know, I agree with a lot of what's said here but the reality is, if you want to see a first run 'entertainment' escapist type film, this theater is not the worst. Certainly not the best, but it's on par with other houses of it's type in this area. Regal could do a much better job with the atmosphere, but the sound system isn't the worst I've experienced, the seating, while not the most comfortable is average. The concession prices are OUTRAGEOUS but in what movie house are they any better around here? I've been to Crossgates, Saratoga and Glens Falls - none of them are remarkably better.
No - this is a typically average place to watch a first run movie - no better no worse.
Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: I understand the love of local theatres like Spectrum, but in the first run popcorn movies area, the price and crowd difference makes this a much better choice over crossgates or colonie center. Not everyone is always looking for a pretentious foreign film. Sometimes, you just want entertainment. I like both independant and major movies, and frequently go to Spectrum, Madison and East Greenbush.
Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: Where to begin - shabby place, half of what is shown never should have been made - and you have to run the gauntlet - first work your way through the kiddie crowd hanging at the entrance - pay more than the film is worth - then get past the "food" and arcade games - then work your way down the narrow, dim hall to find the film you paid for. Hell, I'm depressed just writing about it. Its Crossgates-mini - figures, its right next to Walmart!
If you've got bling, can snap your gum, and use OMG for punctuation, you'll love this place. Otherwise AVOID - save your $ and drive across the river to the Spectrum - a real theater where you might be both entertained and challenged vs ripped-off and insulted.
