This review was initially sent to the GLOBE corporate office Friday, August 3, 2007 and I have yet to receive an email and/or call about my visit. Just wanted to share my experience.

    Good Afternoon,

My wife and I have visited your restaurant on several occasions and each time, we have enjoyed both the food and service; however, today's experience was horrible. We stopped in for lunch between 1:00-2:00 and sat near the restroom. The server, who never gave us his name was a tall Black gentleman that appeared to be in rush throughout our entire visit. I ordered the shrimp sandwich and my wife the calamari; however, as the server placed the dish in front of my wife, she immediately became sick and ask the server to take it back. The server never asked if she was interested in another dish or even why she was no longer interested in her initial order. He never brought the straw she requested for her water (believe it or not we actually shared a straw). He never came back to replenish my ice tea; however, the couple next to us received his devoted attention throughout their meal. In all honesty, the only time he visited the table was to bring the initial order and from there, it appeared as though we were assigned to the gentleman cleaning the table.

We spoke to the manager (Business Partner) and he appeared to be just as nonchalant as our server. I really hate to think that our latest experience is the "corporate culture". As I mentioned earlier, we have always enjoyed both the food and service but today was just horrible and I needed to let someone know because I really think that both the server and manager thought they we were there for a free meal. It's so sad that even in 2007, that one would be qualified or disqualified because of dress and/or appearance. In closing, as I have shared my previous experience with associates, family and friends, I will do likewise with the most recent.

    Pertinent Information:

    Time: 1:00 - 2:00
Order: Sweet tea, water, 2 shrimp sandwiches (2nd ordered after getting attention of guy cleaning table and calamari was sent back)
Server: Tall dark skin Black gentleman with closely shaved face and head (name was never given)
Seating: Rear of Restaurant near Restrooms (table for two behind the drapes near the window)
Price of Meal: $19.98 (paid with a $20 bill in which my wife requested her $.02 because she was totally displeased with service)
Manager/Business Partner on Duty: Fair skin Black gentleman with jeans, dark color shirt and white or beige jacket

Simply Fantastic: The Globe has quickly become one of my favorite Midtown spots to hang out. The ambiance is wonderful, and it’s the perfect spot for a romantic evening meal (if you can secure a window table), or a great place to hang out with friends and associates. The drinks are delightful (make sure to get the Mango Margarita), and the food is exquisite. My favorite, the Braised Short Rib Pappardelle Pasta is bursting with flavor and will keep you going back.

One of my Favorite Atlanta Spots!: I adore The Globe! It is an exciting, casual environment with fabulous food! The Quick Fixe is quite a price performer - 2 appetizers and a glass of wine for $15 is a hit with appetizers of this quality. Very friendly staff. Every dish I've ever ordered here has been served at the perfect temp and flawlessly presented. Anytime I have guests in town, I make a reservation at The Globe. If I HAD to say anything negative, it would be that it is noisy if you are wanting to have a conversation - however the outdoor seating (weather allowing) is perfect.
