For the price The Capital Grille is charging for food it should blow you away. As far as chain steak houses go Ruth's Chris is a far better steak, and much better value. Wine, apps & dinner will set you back $80-$120 a person.
Of the six diners, five of whom ordered steaks, two were overcooked (ordered medium - served very well / ordered rare - served medium) and one entree came out wrong. Our waitress was kind and returned with properly cooked steaks and the proper entree. The atmosphere was nice and staff was attentive but, who am I kidding Iâm here for the foodâ¦...
I tried the delmonico with their signature Kona rub. I don't think the rub added much of anything to the beef. I think and nice coating of kosher salt and pepper would have produced a more flavorful steak. I wouldnât even rank the steak as memorable. I tried several of the other steaks with their âsignatureâ preparations and remained under whelmed. The potatoes au-gratin and the key lime pie ended up being the highlights of my meal. There are many restaurants in Baltimore that are fantastic; this is not one of them. Not only will you find something that tastes better but also, it may be friendlier to your wallet. In a nutshell The Capital Grill seems like an expense account restaurant. It provides all of the expensive menu items that will surely make a client feel loved and preparations that are more fun to talk about, then taste.
One of the best: The Capital Grille in Baltimore is a family favorite. The Food is excellent as is the ambience. I Highly recommend the Kona Crusted Sirloin, or not on the menu but equally classed is the Kona Crusted Filet Mignon. The Truffle infused French Fries are a favorite as well. The wine selection is second to none in Baltimore. The price is comparable to equal restaurants. Finally parking for lunch is difficult but, parking for dinner is easy with valets off Gay St.
AMAZING!!!: I have been to Capital Grille twice and both times we had excellent service and exquisite food! All of the staff were extremely accommodating and the atmosphere is elegent. I recommend this restaurant to anyone!
