Not sure why everyone is giving this place accolades. We tried some basics, for our appetizer we had the fried potato dumplings and for the entrees we had beef stir fry (but with Burmese name) and rice noodles with tofu (Burmese version of Pad Thai). Both entrees and the appetizer were sub-par compared to other Asian Restaurants around town like Oriental East, Asian Bistro, and Thai at Silver Spring. What really got me was the portion sizes. I am used to having left overs to take home, but the dinner portion ($11 - $13/plate) was the size of a normal lunch special you get at Oriental East for $8.
I must admit though their service was excellent..thus the two stars. Our glasses of water never empty, but even with the superb service it wasn't enough for us come back.
So...save your money and go to one of the other restaurants I suggested and have a better meal for less cash.
not good place to go: You might have experience to pay more than you expected. They added 20% of tip on the bill without any marking to try to trick you. Even though you are satisfied with the food, the way to cost you is unacceptable...
Not honest people: The food is okay here. However, the last time I went, the bartender casually suggested we get some cocktail she invented. (I think it was basically pineapple juice and bottom-shelf vodka- nothing special.) Some of us agreed. When we got our check at the end, it was, I believe 9 bucks each. If you suggest we order something off the menu, it shouldn't be twice the price of anything else. That was totally dishonest, and I will never go back.
