We were visiting New York and Copper Chimney was highly recommended by our friends who live in new york city. We went there but it was not full and were skeptical, but what a great dining experience. The food was so authentic and so good. But the best was portion size.Normally at most indian restaurants quality is replaced with quantity. The portion size were so perfect so that you enjoy your food without getting stuffed. The service was great. We will recommend it to our friends. The spice level was not compromised and the upper level is so cozy and beautiful. We just loved it.
Very small portions and very pricey. Food was alright, actually a bit blend. I ended up ordering a thali which was also blend but wasnt expensive. Others with me ordered ala carte and those portions were way too small, and prices are way too high.
One of the guys serving is very snobby and sort of unwelcoming which makes the whole experience even worse. We did have a great time making fun of the small portions.
I eat at the lunch buffet twice a month. Food is great with enough variety for almost anyone's taste. I particularly like the Goan fish curry and the mango mousse when it's available. Wait staff are very professional and personable too. I ate lunch at Tribeca Tamarind last month; food at Copper Chimney is better at 1/3rd the price!
