This is a cozy little restaurant with good food. My wife was looking for vegetarian fare while we waited for the festivities to begin on 6th Street for Halloween and we found Koriente.
We ordered hummus rolls (in a thin tapioca wrap), noodle garden, miso shiru soup, and two flavors of bubble tea. The food was excellent and was brought to the table in a timely fashion. The employees were very friendly and the miso shiru soup was gratis because it was a house special.
The atmosphere makes you feel at home, although seating is limited (maybe 25 to 30 people). We enjoyed dining at Koriente and plan to visit again when in that area.
I was in town on business, and looked this place up on the internet. It is a very small restaurant, in the seedy part of town. But the lady that served me was very friendly and nice. Unfortunately, you have to order and pay first (probably because of vagrants eating and not paying!), and be advised, they don't take Amex, so I ended up paying cash.
I got the beef bulgogi, which was very tender and tasty. The vegetables were plain, although fresh and not overcooked. The kimchi had that fermented twang that I very much like, but it was not spicy, closer to sauerkraut, if you ask me.
All in all a good restaurant, and they cater to vegetarians as well. I would recommend this place to others. The food is very good, but I feel that it was expensive considering the small amount that you get. I was hungry two hours later. Suggest you eat at this place when you want a snack, or order lots of food if you can afford it.
My friend raved about this place for weeks so I was pretty excited to go , big let down not enough seating, portions really small, and lemonade overly sweet. The shrimp was the only good thing there but they had great manners!
