Just had one of the worst experiences of my life at the Mustard Seed in Montrose at the 2011 Mother's Day Buffet. They ran out of prime rib and turkey which were the two main features on the menu for this special buffet. Got tired of waiting for the featured items so I went for the roasted chicken which was dry as a bone....not edible. The mashed potatoes tasted like dry wall paste.
Waiters kept saying they'd have more prime rib in a few minutes...but obviuosly they had not planned properly. A few minutes was more like 45 minutes before they brought out another one. Like most people going to a "buffet" I had expected that the featured menu items would be readily available. Reservations were required so they should have anticipated that they needed more than one prime rib.
Dropped $100 for 3 people which was way overpriced for the caliber of the food that was available. Wound up eating a couple of pieces of sausage and some french toast....which was far from what I was hoping for....for $10 bucks I could have had a great breakfast at Bob Evans and wouldn't being feeling like I had gotten taken.
Eating out is supposed to be an enjoyable experience...this was one of the worst I've had in a long time. Mustard Seed overpriced and overpromised this event.
Mustard Seed needs to stick to being a grocery store, they obviously can't run a restaurant. I would never recommend going there to anyone and doubt that I will ever walk into that place again.
WE TRAVEL FROM WARREN, OHIO THIS PLACE HAS BECOME VERY PRICY. MY WIFE LOVES THE GINGER/PEACH TEA . A YEAR AGO SHE USE TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM FOR 7.99 A CAN, NOW IT IS OVER $10.00. I LOVE THE MARANTA ORGANIC CHUNKY PEANUT BUTTER. IT WAS LIKE $7.89 FOR A LARGE JAR, NOW IT IS OVER $9.00. PLUS THEY SHUT DOWN A VERY GOOD ORGANIC RESTURANT. UNFORUNTELY WE SHOP AT ANOTHER WHOLE FOOD FACILITY.
i love this place, what would we do without it? the only other option really is Whole Foods which does not have as many Organics, and is often very expensive!
