User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI came to see Bobby D in 2002 in Mims all the way from Pakistan. He did michelangelo's pieta on my shoulder. It is possibly one of the most beautiful artworks out there. It was the most memorable experiance... He was not just a great artist, He was a great personality. He knew more about my country that in did, I will never forget my conversations with him. My condolances to his family and friends.

Loseing bob has been the most tragic thing that has ever happened to me , I will never get to see his smile or laugh at his jokes ever again, but what I do see is his amazeing works of art living and breathing on so many people. he lives through all of you and i will forever keep his name alive , not only in my soul but in the eyes of strangers who now I call friends and family ..
Our family is gratefull to all ... Bob , I will be waiting in th Purple Rain for you

Dear SIS, I met you a couple of times, I would drive all the way down from Lake Butler to see Bobby, the last time I was down he told me about how sick he had gotten and that he wasn't sure how much longer he was going to do tats. Bobby D's Sis, My name is Dave Hubbard, I want to say I was a friend of Bobby's because he made me feel that way. Like many he did work on, I am a cop. When Bobby died he was in the process of doing a large cover-up for me. We never finished, and honestly, I dont know if any other artist is worthy to finish my cover-up. Bobby invited me into his house, made me feel comfortable. He invited me to come over to shoot and hang out. Bobby did me and my wifes first tattoos when we were first dating. Bobby Caruso referred me to Bobby D. When I went to his shop in Merrit Island his daughter was a newborn. I still have pictures of her as a baby. Since now having kids my own, I now realize how Bobby must have felt during those times of the births of his kids. He loved them so much and always threw in stories about their intelligence without sounding like a bragging father. As I write this, I have a lump in my throat. I don't think I have ever mourned someones death like Bobby's, not even my own relatives. That shows how Bobby made people feel. I was wanting to pay tribut to Bobby in some way, probably to make myself feel better. He told me one time, during one of our 10 hour sittings, the story behind his Sea Horse tattoo. And he told me that Robbie wanted one like him, but he thought it was too early to tattoo Robbie. It wasn't because of Robbies age, it was because of the placement that Robbie wanted. He not only loved his children, he respected them. I often have wanted to write Robbie a letter telling him my thoughts about his dad. Robbie is such an intelligent young man. Much like his dad. I hope Bobby's kids are doing okay. I think of Bobby and his kids every day I look at my tattoos. And that is every day of my life. I would like to get a Sea Horse tattoo to remember Bobby, but the only photos of him that I have do not show the tattoo very well. I hope I am not being wierd or rude, but could you email me a photo of Bobby D which shows his Sea Horse tattoo? My email is Davester230@aol.com. When I got the call from Tammy that Bobby had passed, it was raining, just like today. It was the day after my birthday. I miss him.
