You be the judge. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated. Seated the 4 of us promptly as there were plenty of open tables for a Saturday night. Waiter apologized that they only had 12 "real" menus and found us 3 paper menus for the 4 of us. (I can live with that, they all read the same) Ordered 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine and a pretzels and artichoke cheese dip. Pretzels were the frozen Super Pretzels. If they were not, they have a perfect duplicate, not what I was looking for. The dip was not stringy cheese, but very dry, but not bad tasting. Ordered our dinners, when asked what the vegetable of the day was, waiter did not know(seems you would). My wife got to the bottom of her glass of wine and found all the stuck on spots of some foreign substance. Waiter apologized and did take it off the bill. Ordered two more German beers and he returned to say they didn't have that kind(again, if the German beers are a specialty, you would think you would know that in advance) Gave us a basket of bread which again I'm fairly confident it was thin sliced BeefSteak rye(good but seriously?) Got my dinner and my wife's, but my wife's vegetables where cold, and my dinner was just slightly warmer than room temperature. 5 minutes later our friends got their's which were hot. All four entrees themselves were very good and I liked the spatzles better than any others I have ever had. What keeps my review from being a 4 or 5 star is the culmination of all the little mishaps. Being that the price range of dinners is 15 - 25 dollars, a bit more organization would go a long way. Will I go back? Probably at least once more.
